Army Enforces Nationwide Prohibitory Order

To curb the unrest caused by the Gen Z protests, the Nepali Army has declared that the prohibitory orders will continue until 5 PM Wednesday, and a nationwide curfew will be in place between 5 PM and 6 AM Thursday. Critical services such as ambulances and vehicles of health workers will be spared; the army threatened to treat incidences of violence, vandalism and looting during demonstrations as serious crimes. Complaining of recent casualties and damages, the Army encouraged people to stay off rumors, rely on the information published by the authorities, and collaborate with security forces. It also emphasized the importance of unity and promised to ensure protection of lives, order and humanitarian assistance.
