Talks Between Protesting Youths and the Nepali Army Today

A formal meeting is scheduled today between protesting youths and the Nepali Army in the presence of President Ram Chandra Paudel. This is after an informal gathering on Tuesday evening between youth representatives and the chief of the Army, Ashokraj Sigdel. Among the main requirements, the talks will be based on disbanding parliament, the establishment of a civilian government, and new elections. The young generation has been agitating towards the termination of the rule of the political parties, and Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah backed the dialogue on the condition of the parliament being dissolved. In the meantime, the army has urged the protesters to remain peaceful and enter into the negotiations.
