China’s Tencent’s third-quarter revenue rose 13 percent due to AI and gaming

Tencent reported that its Q1 revenue went up 13% and hit 180 billion yuan ($24.97 billion), mostly because its gaming business and AI-powered ads were doing well. Net profit came in at 47.8 billion yuan, which was a bit lower than what most analysts had predicted. Domestic gaming went up about 24% thanks to popular games like Dungeon & Fighter Mobile. Tencent plans to spend about 10% of their revenue on AI in 2025, putting more money into projects like Hunyuan and working with partners like DeepSec to keep improving how they uses artificial intelligence.
