Citing this as unconstitutional, the Nepali Congress has filed a case in the Supreme Court against the dissolution of the House of Representatives on September 12. The petition was filed by Chief Whip Shyam Ghimire, using the services of senior advocate Khamma Bahadur Khati. This was taken shortly after Congress leaders greeted UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, who also appealed the dissolution. Ten Congress lawmakers, including Ghimire and Sushila Thing, are listed as petitioners, and the case will be officially registered on Monday. The party had earlier collected signatures demanding that the House be restored.
