The Ministry of Forests and Environment has suggested a two-day public holiday a week to control air pollution in the Kathmandu Valley. On Thursday, Prakash Man Singh discussed with stakeholders and experts how to combat climbing pollution. The Ministry Secretary, Deepak Kharal, proposed the two-day holiday policy, explaining that this was an effort to resolve the problem. Experts also suggested odd-even vehicles and compulsory pollution fees to be collected as part of any road/infrastructure project.
