The Supreme Court rejects an interim order in Kulman Ghising case

supreme court of nepal

The Supreme Court of Nepal has denied the issuance of an interim order that would have restored Kulman Ghising as the managing director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). Ghising, who was ousted in March and replaced by Hitendra Dev Shakya, contested the decision and said that the government’s action was unwarranted. The court chose to decide the issue at a final hearing and ordered a rapid timetable. Ghising had a fallout with Energy Minister Deepak Khadka over the recovery of outstanding electricity dues from industrialists during the load-shedding period.
