Former CJ Karki Set to Head Interim Govt

A late-night conference at Sheetal Niwas has concurred that former Chief Justice Sushila Karki should be appointed the head of the interim government of Nepal. Karki, Army Chief Ashok Raj Sigdel, and President Ram Chandra Paudel have discussed the matter from Thursday night until the early hours of Friday, and Paudel is likely to formally appoint her and take the oath today. The nomination of Karki with the support of Gen Z activists and Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah is a significant breakthrough towards an interim government, although the Parliament dissolution and other constitutional concerns have not been resolved, and more discussions are planned this morning.
