The traders of gold and silver protested on Tuesday in New Road, Kathmandu, against the government decision imposing a luxury tax on gold and VAT on diamonds and gemstones. The Federation of Nepal Gold, Silver, Gem, and Jewelry Associations has requested the government to reconsider and withdraw these taxes, describing them as unfair and bad for their business.
