Prakriti Lamsal would have been 23 years old today, but she is not with us anymore. She unfortunately committed suicide on the 16th of February at KIIT University in India after she had been experiencing abuse and threats by her ex-boyfriend, Advik Srivastava. The university did not take any action even after appealing so many times, and Srivastava was granted bail recently, triggering public outrage.
The father of Prakriti Sunil Lamsal is still strolling in the name of justice, as the Nepali government or politicians promised a lot, but they vanished. He has contacted the Foreign Minister Arzu Rana and the National Human Rights Commission, hoping that the Nepali Embassy and the Indian authorities will intervene. Sunil feels that the death of his daughter could have been avoided and that, through this case, more people will be educated and encouraged to communicate better between the Nepali children and their families.
