Google has made plans to invest 15 billion dollars in India in the next five years to create a giant data center and AI hub in Visakhapatnam, and this will be the biggest AI center of the company outside the US. The project has been described as a digital backbone to India, and it will comprise massive compute capacity, energy infrastructure, and a new subsea gateway. This is an attempt to enhance AI innovation and digitization in India, and the decision is acclaimed as a significant step to the Indian vision of AI by such leaders as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
