Police have arrested Nidesh Baniya of Marchwari-8, Rupandehi, on accusations that he has been a part of the illegal Hundi transactions. He was arrested from Milan Chowk, Siddharthanagar Municipality-5, with 1.35 million rupees in cash in 1,000-rupee and 500-rupee denominations. Rupandehi SP Pradeep Chhetri verified that the money was of an unknown source and suspected of being connected to an informal money transfer. Authorities have initiated an in-depth investigation into the case.
