The representation of marginalized groups is very poor in the directly elected seats of the House of Representatives, as other major parties have a higher number of seats, with the Rastriya Swatantra Party being first. Of the 165 seats elected through the first past the post system, the number of winners from the marginalized groups is a mere 14. Among the Dalits from the mainstream parties, the only person elected is Khagendra Sunar from the RSP.
