Minister Raj Kumar Gupta resigned after some audio clips surfaced regarding a bribery deal of Rs 7.8 million to be paid in exchange for political appointments and transfers of the Kaski region. Gupta stated that he was a victim of technology abuse, but he was highly criticised by legislators who demanded that he be arrested and interrogated. Even after the scandal, Gupta had to attend a Cabinet meeting and resign. Rastriya Swatantra Party thought that the resignation of Gupta was not sufficient, and all the persons involved should be punished. In Gupta’s place, Bhagawati Neupane has been named as the new Minister.
