Once again, the opening of the Nagdhunga to Sisnekhola Tunnel Road has been delayed, and according to the government, it cannot even give a specific date for its opening, although initially, it had a deadline to open by January 1, 2026. It has been deferred by the slow process of selecting a concessionaire to operate the tunnel, incomplete toll booths on both sides, and a landslide at Dhading on one of its entrances, which requires a long term remedy. However, according to them, this tunnel cannot be allowed to operate even if vehicles will be able to pass through.
