In Balkhu, Kathmandu, police have caught seven staff members of the Sumo and EV van ticket counters under the charge of using drugs. The arrests followed the medical tests that proved that they were using drugs during a collaborative exercise between officers and analysts in the Narcotics Control Bureau and laboratory technicians. The move was taken after they were advised by the police that the individuals were disturbing and harassing passengers and people who were on the street. They have all been handed over to Kathmandu District Court, which has given them five days of remand to carry out the investigation.
