Nepal’s government has removed Kulman Ghising from his position as the managing director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) before his term ended in July. A cabinet meeting on Monday made this decision, a minister told Nepal News.
Ghising was involved in a dispute over dedicated and trunk power lines. The government and NEA were conflicted about cutting electricity supply to industries. The cabinet has appointed Hitendra Dev Shakya as the new NEA chief. Shakya had previously held the same position during Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s term.
