Nurses' Union Gives 48 Hour Ultimatum

The Nepal Nursing Association has given the government a 48 hour notice and wants their pay revised and an improvement in benefits given to nurses. The Association threatened that, in case of failure to have their demands satisfied before the deadline, the nurses in the nation will cease all their services except in cases of emergency treatment services.

Although some issues have been resolved previously through partial agreements with the Health Ministry, some still exist, which causes further protests. The NNA has also warned leaders not to intimidate involved nurses and threatened to strengthen the movement unless the government takes action.
