Baneshwar Police Struggles to Resume Services After Arson

Baneshwar Police Struggles

The police circle building of New Baneshwar, which was burnt down during the September 9 protest, still lies in ruins, forcing the officers to work in the crowded old Citizens Investment Trust building. The 123 officers are serving despite the lack of space, lost equipment, and destroyed documents, and all the tents are set up to cater to emergency cases. Locals have started repair work, although engineers have recommended dismantling and refurbishment of the building before full operations are reinstated.
