More than 600 prisoners are either captured or surrendered, and hundreds of prisoners are free, causing severe security issues as a result of the recent Gen Z protests in Sudurpaschim Province. The government estimates that over 1,400 inmates escaped jails in various districts last week, and police forces and even Indian security forces assisted in the hunt to locate the escaped inmates. Although there are those inmates who have come back on their own accord, there are still numerous missing inmates, which has led to deepening the search efforts, stricter scrutiny of the border, and pleas by the government for parents to cooperate.
