Nepal’s ‘Gen-Z’ Protesters Deemed Martyrs; Families to Receive Rs15 lakh Each

Protesters Deemed Martyrs

The interim government under Prime Minister Sushila Karki has declared the amount of compensation of 15 lakh to be given to every family of those killed in recent Gen-Z protests, declaring the deaths martyrs, and vowing state honors at their respective funerals. Even though Karki assured people that she will focus on their welfare and stability, the protests are not over yet, since the majority of people believe that her government is the continuation of the old system, and analysts are afraid that the crisis may only get worse as long as people still have their grievances unaddressed.
