The Budhigandaki Hydropower Projects A and B in Gorkha district started their preparatory work. These are the 13.4 MW Budhigandaki A and 226 MW Budhigandaki B that utilize run of the river to produce electricity. New Nepal Hydro Electric Company promotes the projects and will cost a total of about Rs 88 billion. Dams, tunnels, and powerhouses will be located in various sites within the Dharche area. Environmental investigations and power buying contracts are ready, and the construction is likely to start during the next dry season.
