In the first half of the current fiscal year, Nepal received Rs 763.08 billion in remittance, a 4.1% year-on-year increase, although down from 22.2% in the previous year. Net secondary income recorded an inflow of Rs 832.76 billion, growing by 4.2%, which has declined from last year’s 21.1% growth. 

The number of first-time foreign employment approvals granted to Nepalese was 11.7 percent higher at 230,439, and the number of re-entry approvals surged 21.4 percent to 162,628. The balance of payments posted a surplus of Rs 249.26 billion, down from Rs 273.52 billion in the same period last year.
