Sabita Bhandari Becomes Nepal’s First Female Attorney General

On the recommendation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki, President Ramchandra Paudel has appointed senior advocate Sabita Bhandari as the new attorney general of Nepal, making her the first female to be appointed to this position. Bhandari, who at one time served as the commissioner in the Information Commission and is the daughter of a legal scholar, Krishna Prasad Bhandari, takes the place of Ramesh Badal, who resigned earlier on the same day.
