Nepali police have arrested and expelled six Sri Lankan nationals suspected of having taken part in the murder of an underworld don, Ganemulla Sanjeewa, in Colombo earlier this year. Ishara Sewwandi was the key suspect who was apprehended in Bhaktapur and was returned to Sri Lanka with a one-year entry prohibition along with five others. They all illegally entered Nepal, some via India. Their arrest happened after the Nepal Police, the Department of Immigration, and the Sri Lankan CID officers coordinated the arrests after Interpol had sent Red Corner Notices on the suspects of the high-profile killing.
