Following a habeas corpus petition filed by Neerajan Prasai, the son of activist Durga Prasai, the Supreme Court has ordered the government to bring the latter to court within 24 hours. Neerajan Prasai argued that his father was being held illegally and should be released. A single bench of Justice Megh Raj Pokharel also asked the government to explain the arrest. Prasai is currently in police custody on charges of disturbing public order.
