Tesla has announced a new All Wheel Drive version of its popular Model Y SUV, priced at $41,990 and available in the United States, making it slightly more expensive than the cheaper rear wheel drive version of the model, the Standard model. The announcement comes shortly after Tesla announced the launch of cheaper Standard models of the Y and 3, in a move to increase demand for the electric cars, especially amid tough competition and a decline in electric car demand due to the expiration of tax credits. However, the cheaper models are likely to affect the company’s profits unless the costs are reduced or the revenue from software and services is increased. The company has announced that it is stopping the production of the S and X models to produce humanoid robots.
