A central committee member of CPN-UML and the president of the Indigenous Federation, Pasang Sherpa, was arrested in Dhumbarahi on Tuesday following his conviction by the Patan High Court that he was guilty of polygamy in a case brought against him by his wife, Karishma Kharel. Despite the verdict made last year, he had been able to stay free under political protection.
