Sher Bahadur Deuba resigned as the president of the Nepali Congress following protests organized by Gen Z and a violent attack on him and his wife. He gave the leadership to Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka so that he could organize the next general convention of the party. Deuba, although he is retiring, will have an effect on the following leadership, but there is a debate about whether or not the convention can be held by December.
