NEA Warns Defaulters as Deadline to Clear Dues Ends Sunday

The extended deadline for industries to pay long due dues to the Nepal Electricity Authority on dedicated feeders and trunk lines expires this Sunday, yet no payment has been received. Although industries have been notified of the same matter several times and made installment offers, they have owed approximately Rs 8 billion since 2015. The NEA has threatened to remove power lines unless they are paid, with only some companies expressing some interest. It has been years of stagnating and prolonging, also due to the Gen Z movement, but the problem has not been resolved yet, even with the pressure of the government to recover.
