He pointed out, at the event, that cybersecurity risks from China are dangerously increasing and are now the biggest challenges, as recent intelligence shows. He warned that China is using its financial power to influence politics and create pressure on Europe. In 2023, it was the Dutch intelligence that first accused China of cyber espionage. Johnson encouraged taking stronger joint steps within the EU to rely less on China and safeguard its major industries.
