An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 hit Sindhupalchok.

Kathmandu Valley and its surroundings were jolted by a 6.1 magnitude earthquake epicentered in Sindhupalchok at 2:51 am this Friday morning. 

The epicenter was on Bhairavkunda of Sindhupalchok district, informed the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre. 

There were no immediate reports of fatalities or serious damage, but the earthquake woke residents in the Kathmandu Valley in the predawn hours and sent some rushing out of their homes in fear. 

Authorities are trying to figure out how it would shake out in a new location and what the threats would be.
