It remains that the Ilam floods and landslides ransacked many families months after the catastrophes happened on October 4. Many victims have not yet been provided a permanent shelter, even though the government had promised assistance. The disaster took away the lives of 39 individuals, and hundreds of houses and other valuable infrastructures were also ruined, yet reconstruction has hardly begun. The mishandled reaction and fear of the locals and leaders are that unless action is taken fast, life will be worse when the rainy season comes back.
