The U.S. government has released a statement saying Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Nepali citizens will stop on August 5, 2025. As a result, if Nepalis do not get a different legal status, they will have to leave the country shortly.

As U.S. immigration officials are interviewing fewer of the Nepali students who apply for student visas, many have difficulty getting an education in the country. Therefore, the number of students enrolling in higher education in the UK, Australia, Canada and Japan is increasing.
